I was 14 when my father's removal business started to fall. It was like watching a castle fall to ruin. £3 million in revenue. 50 staff. Museums, NHS, Top Universities in London. A legacy built on handshakes and reputation.

Then 2008 hit. But it wasn't the crash that solely killed it. It was invisibility. My father resisted technology, a by-product of his time, but with no website until 2013, meant five years of invisibility.

I've spent the last 16 years in this industry, working for other companies whilst carrying that wound. I've lived with the bottlenecks and slowness of human orchestration for years. Good companies bleed out still even when they're good because they ultimately cannot prove what they've done, they cannot see that far ahead, and all are constantly reacting to situations rather than seeing them come.

Standards aren't proof. Badges aren't intelligence. Legacy software records the past. It doesn't predict the future.
